Why You Need a Micro Needle Roller in Your Life!

What is it?

A microneedle roller is a skin care tool that treats multiple skin problems. In a way it works like a paint roller, however it is not soft or plushey. It is more spikey. It is a mini roller with multiple needles on it. The needles come in different sizes to target a different level of intensity.

What does it do?

The microneedle or derma roller creates tiny injuries that can be controlled on the skin or micropunctures.  In doing this, the body sends a signal to boost the production and elastin.

What are the benefits?

Microneedling treats acne scars or any scars really, fine lines and wrinkles, stretch marks and even cellulite and it is great for facial rejuvenation. It is very easy to use and a cheap alternative to takin care of your skin.

How to use it yourself?

Make sure your face is clean and free of any dirt, makeup, oils, etc. Apply a toner to prep the skin and help it stay soft. For the face, work the micro needle gently horizontally in a systemic way. Start with the forehead area and work your way down to the chin while avoiding the eye area. Your face may feel a bit of a tingle after having had the roller applied to it. After youve rolled the area you may opt to use a serum to fast track skin care treatments.

How often to use?

Different size of dermarollers should be used withdifferent regularity to help the skin heal withthe smaller rollers being able to be used more regularly or daily and the bigger ones being used once a month. Use a 0.2-0.25 mm microneedle daily or every other day. This size improves the absorption of applied skin care products. 0.5 mm dermaroller may be used once every 3 weeks. 0.75 mm dermaroller may be used once every 4 weeks.

But you should know…

For at home use you should practice caution. Don’t use anything bigger than a 0.25 more than once a week. Use as suggested by the manufacturers. Do not share these with any one else after they have been used! And because cleaning and decontamination is hard even with spa decontamination and sanitation practices, for a tool of this caliber, make sure to dispose of it.
